About Me
Hello! My name is Holly Olson, and I am a senior at Villa Grove High School. I help out a lot with our yearbook, and have spent the past two years as our Business Manager. This year, I will be our Editor. Doing business work with our yearbook is what mainly sparked a business-interest for me, and I plan on studying business in college next fall. Aside from business, I am a figure skater and do lots of sewing. I spent three years of a competitive synchronized ice-skating team, and still skate individually now. I enjoy sewing a making quilts. I have made three quilts, two of which have gotten best of show at the Moultrie-Douglas County Fair. I am really looking forward for this program because, as mentioned above, I would like to go into the business field. I think learning how to start your own business and talk to lots of business owners will be a great experience.

Today, we went back to Atwood to visit Mr. Harris to see his trade show booth. The company goes to trade shows throughout the year, which we got to learn more about. I enjoyed hearing about the different types of shows they go to. When we went out to see his booth, it was a lot more than I expected. Seeing their booth really opened my eyes to see that a booth does not just have to be a table and some signs. There are multiple ways to design a booth, and have it be interactive with your customers."

Something that really stood out to me was one thing that Mr. Kidwell told us he did when he was teaching math. He stated that at the end of every day, he would always sit at his desk and try to figure out what he could do better.

We discussed chapter 2 of Craig’s book. This chapter was about making sure we are focusing on the good things in our life, not the negative things. We talked about how sometimes it can be a struggle to do this while we are in high school. Something I really like about this class is how honest we can all be. Our facilitator respects all of our viewpoints, and we all respect and listen to each other. This type of setting is not majorly common anymore, and I really appreciate it.
